Thank you Kent Libbe!

After more than a decade of support, love, and service, Kent Libbe is stepping away from his position as a member of the Euphrates Board of Directors. We are so grateful for your vision, your stewardship, and your example of servant leadership. A simple thank you does not feel like enough. Euphrates’ Founder, Janessa Gans Wilder, has taken a moment to reflect on Kent’s service.

I first came to know Kent through his daughter Heather—a student of mine with every bit as much passion and energy as I have. So it was with some surprise (and delight!) that I met her father: Kent—measured, calm, analytical. A CFO to his core. Not swayed by rhetoric. More at home in numbers. Steady, dependable. He was the perfect counterbalance to my energy. And from the very start, he didn’t get scared off by the wild ideas or the big passion. He stayed. He leaned in. He engaged. He helped. Oh boy, did he help.

Reassuring calm. Steady advice. Making sense out of the unknown. Calmly keeping the boat afloat even when there was no fuel and no rudder.

Kent is an indelible part of the fabric of Euphrates. From the very beginning, he lent his wisdom and stability to help hold this ship together—and keep it pointed toward the destination it was meant to reach. I will forever be grateful for his steadiness and his leadership, and for the way his belief made the rest of us feel stronger—and braver. When you have the support of someone as wise as Kent, you feel invincible. You feel like you’re doing the right thing.

The entire Euphrates family owes a deep debt of gratitude to Kent’s constant leadership over these past 15 years. We honor his service with deep bows as he transitions from the Board—but never from the Euphrates family.

-With bows of gratitude and heaps of love,

Janessa
