2026 Peace Practice Alliance Welcomes 46 Peacebuilders from 32 Countries

The 2026 Peace Practice Alliance (PPA) has officially begun, welcoming 46 peacebuilders from 32 countries into a shared journey of learning, reflection, and practice. This year’s cohort includes people working across youth leadership, education, interfaith dialogue, gender advocacy, refugee support, environmental peacebuilding, Indigenous leadership, civic engagement, and community healing. Each person brings knowledge shaped by their own context, along with a willingness to learn from others and deepen how they practice peace in their work and daily lives.

The PPA was created from the belief that peace is not only something we study or hope for. It is something we practice. That practice can be found in how we listen, respond to conflict, build trust across difference, and make choices as leaders. It asks us to pay attention not only to the change we hope to create, but also to how we show up while creating it.

Throughout the coming months, participants will engage with ideas and frameworks that deepen their understanding of peace and leadership. They will also reflect on their own experiences, try new practices, and learn alongside peers from different cultures, professions, and regions of the world. This exchange is central to the PPA. The curriculum offers a foundation, but the learning comes alive through conversation, curiosity, and the many perspectives participants bring into the space.

At a time when many peacebuilders are working amid conflict, division, and uncertainty, communities of practice like the PPA feel especially important. They create room to pause, reconnect with purpose, and remember that this work does not happen in isolation. Over the months ahead, participants will explore personal, interpersonal, community, and global peace while considering how what they learn can take root in their own relationships, organizations, and communities.

We are grateful to welcome this new cohort into the wider Euphrates community and look forward to sharing their stories and insights as the journey unfolds. Their presence is a reminder that peace grows through practice and through the relationships that help sustain it.
